FP Profile- Susheela Grabs the Elephant by the Tale

“Take chances. Make mistakes. Get messy.”

-Ms. Frizzle (Magic School Bus)

Get ready for a treat Friendly Planet followers. This blog serves many purposes, one of which is to highlight world changing ideas, people, and organizations. Today (and tomorrow if you’re reading this then), you get all three with the first ever Friendly Planet Profile. After learning about Susheela’s concept a couple of weeks ago, I was blown away at the world-changing potential and had to learn more. It’s even my nomination for idea of the century. Yeah, I said century. With some Friendly Planet prompts, I asked Susheela to tell us more about herself and Elephant Tale, her organization to get caring into education curriculum.

[Note: My reactions are in brackets [..]. Susheela is not responsible for what I say.]

Enjoy. Enter Susheela. Read the rest of this entry →

June, 2009 Earnings Report= $21.37 (Givin’ it all away)

Hey everyone,It’s officially July on this side of the world and the earnings report is in.

First, thanks for clicking! Despite only being up for the last 15 days of June, you’ve helped the FP blog bring in:

$21.37

…solely from Adsense revenues.

I’ve decided to give it all away for this month and begin the 50/50 revenue splitting for July. If your reading this in a Western country, $21.37 ain’t no big deal. Well, over here it’s a lot of money and can go a long way for a needing soul.

I’ll most likely be giving this away as I pass back through China en route to SE Asia in mid-July. My current thought is to give it to Machik, a non-profit providing education and empowerment for Tibetans. I’m open to other options, too, so feel free to email me with ideas or leave ‘em in the comments below.

As I’m sitting here typing, the reality of being able to give money as I travel is setting in - and it’s exhilarating! Seriously. I can’t thank you dedicated few enough! And I hope you can share some of the same exhilaration for being THE reason this is happening. Thank you for helping to make this planet friendlier.

Now, here’s the challenge. The FP earnings goal for July is $50. Can we do it?

If you think so, ask 5 friends to visit the site, take a look around, and if they feel compelled to contribute all they have to do is visit sponsors. It’s that easy.

With Friendly Love and Respect from Mongolia,

Adrian
